Post Remediation Verification (PRV)
Independent clearance testing after mold remediation — verifying that the job was done right before you move back in or close the work order.
What Is Post Remediation Verification?
Post Remediation Verification (PRV), also called a clearance inspection or clearance letter, is an independent assessment conducted after mold remediation is complete. Its purpose is to confirm that the remediation contractor successfully removed the mold, that airborne spore levels have returned to normal, and that the area is safe for re-occupancy. In Florida, clearance testing must be performed by a licensed mold assessor — not the company that did the remediation.
Why PRV Matters
Without independent clearance testing, you have no objective proof that the remediation was successful. MoldXperts provides PRV as a completely independent third party — we have no relationship with the remediation contractor, which means our results are unbiased and carry full legal weight. Our clearance letter is accepted by insurance companies, real estate attorneys, and buyers.
What the PRV Includes
- Visual inspection of all previously affected areas to confirm no visible mold remains
- Air sampling to verify that indoor mold spore levels have returned to normal background levels
- Surface sampling when warranted to confirm surfaces are clean
- Comparison to original baseline — results are evaluated against the pre-remediation conditions
- Written clearance letter issued upon passing, suitable for insurance, real estate, and legal purposes
When Clearance Is Not Achieved
If the remediation did not meet clearance standards, we document the deficiencies in detail. This gives you the documentation needed to require the contractor to re-do the work at no additional cost to you, before the final payment is made.
PRV is the final step in protecting your investment — don’t skip it.
